Established in February 1995 and affiliated to the State Information Center (SIC), the International Information Institute upholds its tenet of focusing on development and security. By addressing pressing issues in political, economic and social development at home and abroad, the Institute proactively provides decision support and information consulting services to the government and relevant agencies through various academic research and exchange activities.

The Institute comprises five functional offices, namely, Policy Research Office, Research Office on Information Analysis, Research Office on Economic & Social Development and Non-traditional Security, General Office and International Cooperation Office.
